3. avr 2014

“As a good leader, you must be able to command respect and love; when to apply wisdom, courage and commitment; and must think where you stand.”

This was the remark of Prof. Nimal De Silva, Sri Lanka Scout Association (SLSA) Chief Commissioner, during the opening ceremony of the 10th Course for Assistant Leader Trainers (CALT), at the Lee Dasanayake National Scout Training Centre in Mirigama, Sri Lanka from 22 to 28 April 2014.

Course Leader M E S Jayasinghe, SLSA National Training Commissioner, said that part of the course was to assess the knowledge and skills of participants as potential trainers. A total of 42 participants from nine provinces of Sri Lanka came.

Overseas trainers were Dr Cyrus Wadia (India), Ekbert Yong (Malaysia) from the APR Specialists Panel; Thian Hiong-Boon (Asia-Pacific Office), and SLSA’s two Deputy Course Leaders: National Youth Programme Commissioner Sarah Godakandaarachchi (Program) and Sarth Mataraarachchi (Administration).
