The União dos Escoteiros do Brasil celebrates its XIX Congresso Escoteiro Nacional.

1. Jan 2013

In the city of Recife, Pernambuco, was held on 26, 27 and 28 of April, the XIX Congresso Escoteiro Nacional (National Assembly), attended by over 300 representatives from all regions of the country.

The timing was propitious to review the accomplishments and see how they have overcome their historical record of membership; currently they are more than 77 thousand Scouts in Brazil. They renewed their national authorities; youth members were elected to their governance bodies. Additionally did the launch of the new "Scout Clothing", as part of a strategy of renewal and revival of the image carried forward by its National Direction of Communications. It was a solemn event, held in a festive atmosphere of brotherhood.
The World Scout Bureau-Interamerican Region was accompanying the UEB, represented on this occasion by José Gabriel Criollo, Director of Institutional Development, who also facilitated two seminars on the Global Network of Messengers of Peace, along with Fernanda Vogt, National Coordinator MoP in Brazil and Speaker of the Youth Network of Interamerican Region, all as part of the continuous dissemination of this important project WOSM.
The UEB with their results shows that working strategically, united around clear and shared objectives and a high level of institutional awareness, Scouting can grow and develop in the Inter-American Region.
