Handbook for leaders of Scout Age Group

  • 15. nov 2013

This Handbook for leaders of Scout Section includes the key provisions of the educational Scout Method used by the World Organization of the Scout
Movement in its activities with adolescents of 11 to 15 years old age group. The Handbook authors employ diverse approaches in presenting their
methodological recommendations. The Handbook could be of some interest for adult leaders in Scouting, for a wider community of educators and
pedagogues, and for parents of adolescent children.

The handbook offered hereby consists of two parts: the first one is “Handbook for leaders of Scout Age Group” itself; the second is
“Children with special needs in Scouting”. It may seem artificial to combine these two handbooks having different targets in one.
However about 40% of modern children suffer from one or another malady described (or not described) in the second part of the
handbook, in other words they belong to the so-called “special needs people” group if we speak a politically correct language. This fact
proves a necessity to pay special attention to this category of children in educational programs of Scouting.
