Cooperation gave first fruit
The Long Term Capacity Building Project in Eastern Europe is initiated and guided by the Danish Scout and Guide Council, and supported by European Region WAGGGS and WOSM - European Region.
Four selected countries (Ukraine - WAGGGS only, Latvia and Slovakia - SAGNOs, and Macedonia - WOSM only association) worked after the first meeting held in December in Denmark to produce tools of priority for them, but for later wider use in Scouting.
The next meeting was organised in Banska Stiavnica, Slovakia, from 7 to 10 June 2007. Aim of the meeting was to finalise the work on the tools and plan pilot project in countries during the Summer/Autumn. 20 leaders from all involved countries met and had an interesting and productive weekend.
- The outcomes of the weekend include.
- First drafts of 8 tools in area leaders capacity building. The tools will be reviewed and then made public on the end of the project, for wider use in the Movement
- Plans for pilot project in countries. Every country selected a project which corresponds to their priorities and made plan how to implement it
- Budgets for the pilot projects. Danish partners will support partly all the projects
- Partnership agreement, signed by all participants. The agreements states responsibilities of all sides in organising and supporting projects
During the summer and autumn, all participating countries will deliver the pilot projects planned during the weekend.
The next and final meeting will be held from 22 to 25 November 2007, in Ukraine.
