After more than one year of work, the “Action for Growth” report was launched at the European Scout Conference two weeks ago in Slovenia.
Now this version is available as a PDF-file here on the Internet….

 

A new committee was elected for the term 2007 till 2010.

The new Chairman of the European Scout Committee is Craig Turpie from the United Kingdom. The Vice-Chairman is Marios Christou from Cyprus.

The other members of the committee are Joao Armando Gonçalves P. from Portugal, Zorica Skakun from Serbia, Henrik Soderman from Finland and Paolo Fiora from Italy.

 

This year in recognition of the Centenary of Scouting, an unprecedented 50 postal operators in Europe are producing EUROPA stamps with the theme of Scouting. To facilitate this the European Scout Region and PostEurop are working to support activities across Europe.

 

BELGIAN SCOUTS & GUIDES CELEBRATE 100 YEARS OF SCOUTING

On Sunday 29th April 95,000 Scouts and Guides from the five Belgian associations celebrated the Centenary in Brussels. Aged from 6 to 76 they camped around the city on Saturday night only to converge on city parks on Sunday to participate in activities celebrating Scouting.

 

A toolkit developed by Europe Region WAGGGS and the European Scout Region on the topic of Child Protection. This toolkit aims at assisting NSOs and MOs to develop a policy for child protection and gives practical information as well as sample forms.

22 young people, representing 11 national Scout associations, met in the beautiful setting of Kandersteg International Scout Centre to exchange and share their ideas and dreams for the future of the movement.

2007 is not only the centenary of Scouting but also marks 20 years of the EU sponsored Erasmus Programme, so WOSM, WAGGGS and the Erasmus Student Network have formed a partnership.

 

Meeting for the South East European (SEE) Scout Associations took place between 23-25 March 2007 in Castel Fantast in Becej, Serbia. In the meeting participated 22 representatives from 8 SEE Scout Associations and 8 representatives from other European Scout Associations (Finland, Italy, Sweden and UK).
