Winners of regional competition “What is Great about Scouts?” announced
After the competition “What is great about Scouts?” was launched on November last year, out of the 41 entries received by the Asia-Pacific Regional Office, a panel of judges selected the winners for the four categories.
Out of the seven National Scout Organizations, three countries were declared winners: For Essay category, Udomkichdecha Sarun (Singapore); Media, Angelna Chang (Malaysia); and for the Blog and Poster categories, Md. Harun-Or-Rashid (Bangladesh) bagged both the awards. Other NSOs that joined that competition were Bangladesh Scouts, Scout Association of Hong Kong, Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia, Nepal Scouts, Pakistan Boy Scouts Association, Boy Scouts of the Philippines and The Singapore Scout Association.
The competition was a project of the Young Adult Members Group and Youth Programme Sub-Committee that aims at reaching out to young people and drawing ideas from them on how to attract more young people especially adolescents to Scouting.
Awards will be presented during the 23r APR Scout Conference in Kuala Lumpur.
