First Day of the Workshop Youth For Change #ScoutIAR

The welcoming was conducted by Mauricio Veayra, where young people are the heart of our Movement was reaffirmed. To this preceded the words of Leonardo Morales, Chairperson of Interamerican Scout Committee and Raul Arturo Sanchez Vaca, Regional Director of World Scout Bureau - Interamerican Region. Later Joao Armando, Chairperson of World Scout Committee, joined by Skype, because of last minute inconvenient makes not possible for he came. Also Mari Nakano, Member of the World Scout Committee and Marina Rustan, Representative of the Interamerican Region in the Taskforce Leadership for the 21st Century were here.

During the first day subjects such as the concept of Youth Participation, Young People in Decision-Kaking and Intergenerational dialogue they were discussed. The 20 participants representing 17 National Scout Organizations in the Region have been in constant engagement and active sessions. The whole program of the event is aligned with the Vision 2023, with the Global Strategy and its priorities and Triennial Plan of the Region "joining forces, Multiplying Results".

For tomorrow the session will be treating the following topics: Youth as a Factor to Change Its Communities, Skills for Life and Peer Education.
