Certificate of Good Service Award
Terms of Reference Governing the "Certificate of Good Service" to the Asia-Pacific Region
The APR Scout Committee awards the Certificate of Good Service to Adults in Scouting subject to the following conditions:
The certificate is awarded to persons who have provided invaluable service over a period of not less than three years to one or more of the following:
- APR Scout Conference
- APR Scout Committee
- APR Sub Committee and or Task Forces
- APR Office
- Major Regional/International event
- Excellent work at national level
The Certificate of Good Service will be presented where possible at a Regional event or on occasion when the Chairman is visiting the awardees’ NSO. As a matter of courtesy each NSO should be advised in writing prior to the award being presented. Approval from the NSO is not required as the award is for service to the Asia Pacific Region.
The Award is open to all adults in scouting who have given good service to Scouting on international or national level.
The Award will be made to both volunteer and professional Adults in Scouting.
The Awards Committee will make recommendation to the Regional Scout Committee at least one month before the Award will be presented.
There is no maximum or minimum number of awards that may be made in one year.
Nominations shall be invited from the existing members of the APR Scout Committee including retiring members, Chairman of APR Sub-Committees and International Commissioners of all NSOs in the region and should be submitted to the Awards Committee at least six (6) months before the award presentation date.
In case of death of the Scout/Scout Leader, posthumous award be presented/passed on to the members of the family.
The Certificate of Good Service is a parchment-certificate bearing the name of the recipient and a citation outlining the services of the recipient to the Scout Movement.
A purple ribbon bar (cloth patch) with an APR Scout logo bronze pin super-imposed in the center can be worn on the uniform preferably close to the shirt pocket or as may be permitted by the respective National Scout Organization. The size of the ribbon bar is 2 cms. X 5.5 cms. including border.
The Asia Pacific Regional Scout Committee will introduce this new award Certificate of Good Service by the commencement of 2007.
