International Environment Opportunities for Scouts

Would you like to join with other young people from around the world in Korea for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) International Youth Conference on the Environment?

You could share your Scouting and environment stories with other young people through UNEP's Tunza Magazine for youth.

The World Organization of the Scout Movement has partnered with UNEP to open up these opportunities for our members to show their commitment to respect and value the environment.

THEME “CLIMATE CHANGE: OUR CHALLENGE”

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in collaboration with the UNEP National Committee for the Republic of Korea will be organising its Tunza International Youth Conference on the Environment , from 21 to 26 August 2009.

It will bring together 200 youth, to learn about the environment through plenary sessions, workshops and field trips. The Conference will be in three segments, Global townhall meeting on 21 August 2009, Regional Meetings from 22 to 23 August 2009 and Conference from 24 to 26 August 2009. The daily themes include, Climate change: Limiting the FootPrint, Youth and Green Jobs, Disasters and Conflicts and their Impact on the Environment and Sustainable Lifestyles.
