Scouts and Guides of India welcome Regional Director

Taking the opportunity of training events for leaders to promote and implement the Messengers of Peace (MoP) initiative, Regional Director J. Rizal C. Pangilinan with Director S. Prassanna Shrivastava met with Bharat Scouts & Guides (BSG) National Commissioner L. M. Jain and Director S. S. Chamoli. At this meeting, updates were given on the progress of reviewing the constitution of the BSG including its rules and procedures.
Mr. Jain informed that BSG will have its General Assembly in November to elect new office bearers for the next three years. An agreement was made to organize a National Strategic Planning Workshop in January 2014 to be followed by a regional Basic Management Course in May. The Asia-Pacific Regional office will support both events.
Scouts and Guies in Haryana State welcomed Mr Pangilinan in a traditional way with a cultural presentation. He congratulated the school principals for their wonderful work in Scouting and later visited the National Scout Youth Complex in Gadpuri where Scout leaders were attending a community course. He planted a tree to commemorate his first visit to the campsite.
