Plato would be proud. The Academy 2010 was a great success!

1. Ene 2010

Ever since its inception, The Academy has grown in many perspectives, with the edition just held having more than 200 participants and many learning opportunities delivered through 25 different sessions.

Looking at this 3rd edition of The Academy, Plato would be very proud of Scouts and Guides - but also of the Greek Scouts and Guides for being such great hosts to their friends from 35 countries of European and Eurasia Regions of WOSM and the Europe Region of WAGGGS.

Participants had great opportunities to take part in 25 different sessions and to learn about topics like managing staff and volunteers, personal development, the European Year of Volunteering, change management, the learning organisation, social media, advocacy, image, growth, local leaders, intergenerational interaction, retention of leaders, funding and fundraising and much, much more…

Besides an opportunity for learning, participants had a fantastic time in the evening activities such as sightseeing promenade, visit to the Athens Technopolis Galleries, international evening, tourist bus trip and finally the “Great Athens City Game” organised by Rovers of the Greek Scouts and Guides.

This time we had the unique opportunity to have the Regional Communication Forum held within the framework of the Academy which was a good chance for even more Scouts to interact during the joint coffee breaks but also organised social time in evenings.

If you are interested to know more about the topics, to have look on presentations, materials and resources or you just want to see the photos,

We are looking forward to the next Academy!
