The World Scout Committee has awarded the Bronze Wolf to Abdullah Rasheed, retired Regional Director of the Asia-Pacific Region. Abdullah Rasheed is from Maldives and had formerly served as Chairman, Asia-Pacific Regional Programme Subcommittee. The Bronze Wolf is awarded to an individual in recognition of outstanding services to International Scouting. While announcing the award, the World Scout Committee said “Abdullah Rasheed exemplifies the quality of an outstanding dedicated leader who possesses personal integrity and has served World Scouting in an exceptional manner.”

Abdullah Rasheed’s achievements and contributions include: creation of the Maldives Scout Association and its membership of WOSM; establishing leader training and Jamborees within the Maldives; designing, planning and implementing the Ticket to Life project (now acclaimed as a very successful project across World Scouting); introducing and implementing the Committee National Scout Organization Visit (CNV) assessment survey of National Scout Organizations in the Asia-Pacific Region; providing extensive support to potential member countries in developing Scouting through regular training course, resources and communication to promote the growth of Scouting; and working towards expansion of Scout membership worldwide.

Rasheed retired from being the Regional Director of Asia-Pacific Region at the end of July 2013. He will be presented the Bronze Wolf award on a suitable future occasion or event.

World Scouting thanks Rasheed for his dedicated service and congratulates him.
