The "Big 7" youth organizations, with the help of UNICEF, met in Geneva for four days at the end of November to discuss the participation of young people in decision-making.
In addition to mostly-young executives of the "Big 7" organizations, each was represented by a youth delegate. World Scouting's delegate was 25-old T.V. Srinath (India). Srinath was the chairman of the Asia-Pacific Youth Forum in 2001.
The United Nations, World Bank, and International Labor Organization were also represented at the meeting.
The "Big 7" is formally known as the Alliance of Youth CEOs. It includes the International Award Association, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent, International Youth Foundation, WOSM, World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, YMCA and YWCA.
A document on youth in decision-making will be published by the Alliance. It will be the fourth joint publication on youth-related topics.
