7th August 2007, Chelmsford, UK- Tonight, 12 adventurous days after the Duke of Kent and Prince William opened the 21st World Scout Jamboree at Hylands Park in Essex, 40,000 Scouts will watch the sun set on the closing ceremony before beginning their journeys home to almost every country in the world where they will be able to share their experiences with friends, family and fellow Scouts.
In June 2007 Alcoa Foundation and the World Organization of the Scout Movement decided to launch a joint programme promoting sustainability awareness. It will be initially rolled out in five European countries and will be funded by a two-year $205,000 grant from the Alcoa Foundation. The 21st World Scout Jamboree in Southern England, taking place until 8th of August, is a good opportunity to start to involve young people in the programme. Alcoa Foundation has supported a series of workshops based in the “Global Development Village”, where the Jamboree participants, aged from 14 to 17, reflected on issues and challenges facing the global community.

Siguiendo un sueño de su infancia, Arianna, una Scout italiana de 29 años, dejó su ciudad natal, Susa (cerca de Torino, Italia), hace dos meses y se dirigió hacia el Jamboree. Acompañada por su mejor amigo, un caballo llamado Borbera, ha tenido una gran aventura para llegar al lugar de reunión donde más de 40, 000 jóvenes scouts de todo el mundo se encuentran celebrando el Centenario del Escultismo.
El Presidente de Islandia, Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, junto con su esposa disfrutaron todo un día de actividades en el 21° Jamboree Scout Mundial que se lleva a cabo en el Reino Unido.
El Presidente fué bienvenido en Hylands Park, por representantes del contingente de Islandia y fué llevado a conocer La Casa Hylands.
Scouts from across the world have linked live to the International Space Station at a World Scout Jamboree.

As a young Scout at 12 with the 75th Kowloon Scout Group in Hong Kong, Herman Hui knew he would be a Scout for the rest of his life. Forty-five years later, he is now chairman of the World Scout Committee.
