The Joint Meeting of the Youth Programme and Adult Resources networks (Kandersteg, 29.11-02.12) was an event aimed to “set the scene” for the work in these areas in the current triennium, by assessing the past and current situation and developments, considering the strategic plans of the Region as well as the needs of NSOs and proposing the possible working methods, structures and initiatives to implement the Plan and to answer the needs.
Representatives of Scout and Guide associations from Latvia, FYRO Macedonia, Slovakia and Ukraine met with the support of 5 Danish trainers and representatives of the European WOSM and WAGGGS regions in Kiev from 22 to 25 November for the final meeting of the Leadership Capacity Building Project in Eastern Europe.
Following completion of its new Youth Programme, the Scout Association of Macedonia started developing its new training system. A Forum was an important step in that process, with the aim to set the framework and propose the process for the development of the new training system.
Following on from the Long Term Project on Growth, the first meeting of the Growth Network took place in Berlin, Germany, over the weekend of 5 to 7 October.
26 people from a wide variety of associations were present. Growth is clearly important to these associations, as only a small number had been previously involved with the Long Term Project on Growth.
From 17-21 October the 10th CMC took place in Banska Stiavnica - Slovakia.
In St. George Scout House a total of 78 Centre Managers, Senior Staff of Centres, Board Members of Centres and staff of the European Offices of WAGGGS & WOSM gathered for an intensive 4 days of sharing, discussing and learning.
The castle of Jambville (Training Centre of the “Scouts et Guides de France”) hosted the launching of the Scouts of the World Award in France on October 20-21, an initiative that aims to prepare young adults for world citizenship. Every year, the Scouts and Guides of France support hundreds of international solidarity projects, which now have the opportunity to be part of the Award. Opened to Scouts and non-Scouts from 15 to 26 years, the Scouts of the World Award includes three principal themes which aim to improve living conditions on our planet: Environment, Development and Peace.
September 21st. was very important for all Lithuanian youth organizations. This was the day that the Youth Council celebrated its 15th birthday with a conference and festival.
Very successful Training Commissioners Network Meeting was held from 13 to 16 September 2007 in the Glodowka Scout Centre, in Poland. Aim of this Network Meeting was to provide space for sharing experiences and establishing partnerships between National Training Commissioners.
The Annual Conference on Development Cooperation 2007 was held in Geneva last Friday 14th September in the presence of approximately 2000 guests, including many young people and school classes. The Conference, organised by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in partnership with the Swiss Coalition of Youth Organisations, was devoted to the theme of youth and dialogue between generations and across cultural boundaries. The motto of the Conference was “Youth and Development: Seize the Opportunity - Now!”
CNGEI (Corpo Nazionale Giovani Esploratori ed Esploratrici Italiani – Italian Open Scouting and Guiding) celebrated the Centenary of Scouting in Rome, from 6th to 9th September.
