Peace Knowledge spreads among Scouts:

Under the patronage of H.E. Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak – Egypt’s first lady- four workshops were taken place at the Global Development Village (GDV) to spread peace, tolerance, communication & dialogue in addition paying attention to environment protection. Other ideas presented were loyalty, social & individual responsibilities, personal freedom and respecting others' freedom.

Those workshops have been developed by Suzanne Mubarak's International Movement: "Woman for Peace" which is a non-profit non-governmental international association established in 2003 & registered as a consultative movement to the U.N. Being the first of its nature in the Middle East, it was created to enhance the energy and creativity of all segments of society in the realization of a vision of peace; a vision which is based on a spirit of solidarity between people, on shared values and a mutual understanding of their common destiny. It is strongly committed to strengthening the involvement of woman in peace-building initiatives by highlighting alternative perspectives, exploring various options and ensuring that all efforts are tailored to human needs.

Before the jamboree started, eight members of the International Service Team along with eight Egyptian leaders had trained together on how to spread the culture of peace in an interactive way “learning by doing”; to date 1600 scouts and guides have participated in these workshop.
