The Opening of the Atlantic Jamboree 2007 in Morocco

In one of the most beautiful sites in Morocco and with the participation of 2,400 cubs, beavers, scouts, guides, senior scouts and rovers, the Atlantic Jamboree was inaugurated on July 23rd, 2007 in Ras El Maa. On the Occasion of Scouting Centenary, the Jamboree which was organized by the Al Hessania Scout Association under the motto "One World … One Promise" will last until August 2nd, 2007. The Jamboree was held under the auspices of H.H. King Mohamed VI and the chairmanship of H.E. Prince/ Moulay Rashid- the President of the Moroccan Scout Association in co-operation with the Ministry of Youth in Morocco.

During the opening ceremony, the opera show "Al Hessania Scout Association… constant endeavors and giving" was displayed with the participation of 50 scouts and guides. The show, which highlighted the history of the Scout Movement since its establishment in 1907 and the Moroccan Scouting since 1933, was highly admired by the attendants.

The Opening Ceremony was witnessed by prominent guests from Arab United Emirates and France. The participants paid a visit to the exhibition which was prepared by the Media Group of the Jamboree and uttered the national anthem of the Kingdom of Morocco and the anthem of Al Hessania Scout Association "Peace Pigeons".

The program of the Jamboree included a youth forum, a cultural festival and the celebration of scouting centenary at the night of the first of August 2007. At this night, the participating scouts will wait the sunrise of the second century of the Scout Movement to renew the Scout Promise (Scouting Sunrise).

It is worthy mentioning that children of special needs participate in the Jamboree which receives distinguished coverage by mass media at a high level.
