Upward mobility: Lynette Anyango Odhiambo, former ARO intern, moves to Tanzania

After seven months of internship at the WSB/ARO, in Nairobi, Lynette Anyango Odhiambo finds herself in an upward mobility bliss. This time round, at Corto Safaris LTD, in Arusha, Tanzania. She has been appointed Reservation and Communications Manager. After a farewell ceremony at the Africa Regional Office, she was asked how she felt, and she had this to say:

''Seven months of great team work it has been for me. I have, with pleasure, served the Africa Regional Office in more ways than one. I got in as an intern with the Operation One World, then to the Communications Unit, which was then to be my home to be until the 8th of October. In addition, I served as the Conference Assistant to the 13th Africa Scout Conference which was held in Kigali, Rwanda. In this position, I got a chance to travel to Kigali. Apart from this, this was also a chance to meet new people, make new friends and learn new things.''

''In my home, the Communications Unit, I learnt that no man is an Island. We all make the Unit in one way or another and that together we can do it. This is the lesson I carry, as a Reservation/Communications Manager, at the Corto Safaris LTD in Arusha Tanzania. The organization is situated in Mshono, 6kms away from Arusha Town. I will always be grateful to the Africa Regional Office, for making me what I am today and I will always be indebted to the Scout movement. I always have Lord Baden Powell's words in my heart: Leave the World a better Place than you found it.
ARO has left my world a better place than they found it. Thank you very much''
