Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie
The Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) is an international organisation of French speaking governments and states.
In addition to its primary purpose, supporting the French language as a mode of universal communication, the OIF pursues political action in the fields of peace, human rights and democracy. Universal education and sustainable development are also a focus. OIF often exerts its influence on the national level by working with the governments of its member states in the fields of culture, science, economy, justice, and peace.
OIF currently holds observer status in the UN General Assembly.
