Partnerships: 10 years after Marrakech
The World Scout Seminar on Partnership was held in Bangalore, India 25 February to 1 March 2005. The seminar was held 10 years after a similar meeting in Marrakech, Moroco, which resulted in many projects of cooperation and partnerships among Scout organizations and with other organizations.
The seminar was organized by the Bharat Scouts and Guides in cooperation with the World Scout Bureau central office in Geneva, and its Asia-Pacific Regional Office.
It was attended by 85 participants from 24 countries. (Australia, Bangladesh, Burundi, Chile, Denmark,Egypt, France, Greece, India, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, and the UK) .

The opening ceremony and dinner were hosted by His Excellency the Governor of Karnataka, Shri. T.N. Chanturvedi. The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education also attended.
During the seminar, an International Scout Peace March brought together hundreds of past and present Scouts for an impressive public display along Mahatma Ghandi Road. His Highness Sri Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, and Mr. K. Rehman Khan, Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha, flagged off the March.
At the end of the march, Eduardo Missoni, Secretary General of WOSM, addressed the participants and challenged them to act as Baden-Powell said "to leave this world little better than we found it".
The seminar was closed in the presence of Shri H. Siddaramaiah, Honorable Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka.
Recommendations made by the seminar include:
1- Making significant modifications of the 10-year-old Marrakech Charter.
2- Agreeing on the need to publish the revised, shorter and clearer Charter in more languages.
3- Proposing additions to World Scouting document “Criteria for Working with corporate partners”.
4- Creating a "user's manual" for the revised Charter.
5- Encouraging networking in the World and Regional conferences.
6- Publishing additional practical help concerning partnerships on the WOSM website.
