Gifts for Peace

Gifts for Peace is a key programme for all Scouts to tackle local issues and make a difference in our local communities - a fitting way to celebrate our Centenary.
Scouts worldwide are managing conflict without violence, challenging prejudice and encouraging greater solidarity.
The projects are being coordinated at a national level and cover a wide range of social issues including bullying; child soldiers; child labour; marginalised groups; religious intolerance; street violence and gangs; peace conflict resolution; health awareness and working in support of human rights.
What are you doing to make the world a little better?
Here are some ideas:
- See the information available on scout.org/giftsforpeace
- Contact your National Scout Organisation
- Take a look at the ScoutPAX toolkit
- Discuss this at your local Scout meetings
Millions of Scouts are working for Peace, taking action within their communities through Gifts for Peace projects and speaking out, sharing their thoughts and wishes through multi-media peace messages.
At the 21st World Scout Jamboree, Scouts recorded their messages for peace through open source software, working to spread tolerance and understanding whilst helping to reduce the digital divide. These were recorded as video clips, audio clips, photographs and computer graphics.
