A New Chief Scout of Mexico

On the past october 22 th , José Adolfo López Sampsom Félix resigned as Chief Scout of Mexico so to suit his interests, that day the National Board appointed Ana Lorena Gudiño Valdez as the new Chief Scout of Mexico, she is the first woman in the Scout Movement in Mexico to hold this position.

 

Ana Lorena is a biologist graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She also has studied at the College of Mexico where she attended the Advanced Program of Studies in Environment and Sustainable Development, also she has a diplomate in management and adecuate use of water resources by Alliant International University, in addition to another diplomate on legislation and environmental management by the UNAM and the Center for environmental Legal studies and the Climate Change and Strategies for Conservation of the Biodiversity by the Technological Institute of Superior Studies of Monterrey. She has worked with various business and educational institutions and organizations in Mexico and out of the country.

In addition to her great scout carreer , Lorena was responsible for developing and implementing the National Scout Environment Programme, as well as the Scout Environment Network in Mexico. She was coordinator of the Interamerican Youth Network, she was also Youth Advisor for the World Scout Committee. Now she is responsable to implement the Environment Network in the Interamerican Scout Region.
