New tools for capacity development
Representatives of Scout and Guide associations from Latvia, FYRO Macedonia, Slovakia and Ukraine met with the support of 5 Danish trainers and representatives of the European WOSM and WAGGGS regions in Kiev from 22 to 25 November for the final meeting of the Leadership Capacity Building Project in Eastern Europe.
The Long Term Leadership Capacity Building Project in Eastern Europe was initiated and guided by the Danish Project to support Guiding and Scouting in Central and Eastern Europe, which is an initiative supported by all the Guide and Scout Associations in Denmark and funds are raised through the Danish Business Persons Committee. Four selected countries (Ukraine - WAGGGS only, Latvia and Slovakia - SAGNOs, and FYRO Macedonia - WOSM only association) worked after the first meeting held in December in Denmark to produce tools which met their own priorities but which could later be of wider use in Scouting and Guiding. A follow-up meeting in Slovakia gave focus to finalise the work on the tools and plan pilot projects in countries during the Summer/Autumn. The meeting held in Ukraine was to complete the tools and to evaluate the project.
