EXchange, eXplore, eXcite – “Just Share It”’
The 10th European Scout & Guide Centre Managers’ Conference
Since 1989, managers of Scout & Guide Centres around Europe have gathered every two years to take part in the European Scout & Guide Centre Managers’ Conference. The 10th conference will take place in Slovakia in Banska Stiavnica (St. George Scout House).
The conference will take place from 17-21 October 2007.
The theme of the 10th CMC is ‘eXchange, eXplore, eXcite – “Just Share It”’. The ‘X’ represents that the 10th edition of the CMC is closely related to the Centenary of Scouting (10x10).
The aim of the Conference is to strengthen and develop co-operation among Guide/Scout Centres and to facilitate strong working relations between the staff of those Centres. During the Conference we will be looking at challenges – those we have overcome, those we will face in the future.
A ‘Corner Stone’ sessions will be run on Managing Volunteers, Fundraising, Programme for your Centre, Growing as a Manager, Customer Care and PR & Marketing. Participants will be able to attend two ‘Corner Stone Sessions’. For the ‘Corner Stone’ sessions we are trying to get experts from inside and outside of Scouting. A significant part of the Conference will be taken up with workshops that will give participants the opportunity to present and exchange experiences with other participants in smaller groups. Half a day will be spent experiencing activities away from the Centre.
