Rover Adult Leaders gather at first regional woodbadge training course

A number of initiatives were made to accelerate the promotion of Rovering across the region and organizing the first regional woodbadge training course is one of them.

The Advanced Unit Leader Training Course for the Rover Section, held in Taiwan from 10-16 November 2006 was participated by 43 participants from 14 countries including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Mongolia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, RO China, Singapore, Japan, Korea and Philippines, allowing the workshop participants to acquire the basic eligibility for the course.

The overseas training team that made the training more productive is composed of John Parr, David Cossart and Peter Hann, all from Australia, Fazlur Rahman from Bangladesh, Tore Sejr Jorgensen from Denmark, Toby Suzuki from Japan, John de Guzman from the Philippines, and Thian Hiong Boon from APR office.

Appreciation was given to the host country through its warm Chinese hospitality felt by the participants throughout the event.
This recent advanced course was the third of a series of events after the Rover workshop in the Philippines in 2003 and the International Programme Development Workshop for the Rover Section in Maldives early this year showing the strongest evidence of the region's commitment to promote and strengthen Rovering across the region.
