Early part of August this year, 20 Scouts worked closely with Bookbridge in setting up additional three teaching libraries at the rural areas of Mongolia.

Through its Invitation Programme which promotes international understanding and friendship among the participants, the Scout Association of Japan invited a team of two Scouts and one leader from 13 countries in the Asia-Pacific Region for the 15th Nippon Jamboree held from 2nd to 8th August 2010 at the Asagiri Plateau at the western foot of Mt Fuji.

Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) will soon move its national office to its new 16-storey building within the present premises. BSP Secretary General JR Pangilinan says that the entire structural work has been completed ahead of schedule.

At the two-day Committee NSO Visit (CNV) held at the Hong Kong Scout Centre on 23-24 July, the Scout Association of Hong Kong (SAHK) has proven itself as a well-managed Scout association and a leading youth organization in Hong Kong. Key leaders of SAHK comprised of Chief Commissioner Anthony Chan, International Commissioner Alex Wong, Deputy Chief Commissioners and other Commissioners made comprehensive reports and led the meeting discussions. The visiting team was from the Regional Scout Committee namely First Vice-Chairman Prakorb Mukura, Dr Chao Shou-Po and Regional Director Abdullah Rasheed.

The Asia-Pacific Region in collaboration with Nepal Scouts is organizing the Annual Baden Powell Scout Peak Climb from 5th to 17th September 2010 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

This regional event is the first annual BP Scout Peak climb to be participated by Scouts from National Scout organizations who are climbers, trekkers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Non-scouts who are also trekking and climbing aficionados are welcome to join.

In 2009, Scouts from five countries of the Asia-Pacific Region namely, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Philippines and Singapore were featured on the Clean Up the World Activity Report 2009 recognizing their efforts and their commitment to the environment. To continue this success, we highly encourage our National Scout Organizations in the Asia-Pacific Region to register online by mapping their activities on Global Environment Map of the Clean Up the World.
