The Opening Ceremony of the 10th International Youth Gathering for Cultural Exchange
The representatives of the Six Scout regions expressed their deep happiness to participate in a big event like this. The event which aims at spreading peace cultural and mutual understanding among all peoples of the world. In the light of this great Gathering,
during the period between 21/8: 31/8/2007, and by the participation of 23 counties representing the six scout regions, the event was opened by Dr Atif Abdel Mageed , the regional director – WOSM ,The General Pilot / Ahmed Abdel Latif ,the Chairman of the Egyptian Federation for Scout and Girl Guide, and Dr Fawzi Abdel Zaher , Member of Arab Committee ( ISCESCO ) .
The program of the gathering included 4 sessions which was held between the participants for discussing and getting information about the cultures of their countries and knowing the traditions& habits of the participants to support and exchange their ideas.
In this regard and to achieve the aim of knowing and studying the civilization and monuments in Egypt , the participants visited the following governorates : ( Cairo , Giza , Al Minya , Qina , Sohag , Luxor ) , and enjoyed diving in the Red Sea (Hurghada City ) .
At the end of the Gathering, an international evening was held, in which the participants wore their national uniforms, and exchanged their arts and famous receipts.
The Gathering was attended by the following countries: (Malaysia – Bangladesh – Philippine – Sri lank – Hong Kong – Japan – Azerbaijan – United Sates – Georgia – Lebanon – Jordan – Tunisia – Saudi Arabia – Egypt – Algeria – Sudan – Palestinian - Kenya – Mauritius – Sierra Leone – Kanda – Mexico)
