« On My Honour ... » Investiture Ceremony at ARO
On Thursday 24th May, eight ARO staff members officially joined the Scouting fraternity. The ceremony was held at the ARO Boardroom and was officiated by Jonathan Omondi, the Area Commissioner, Lang'ata.
This once in a lifetime ceremony started at 1100hrs with Esther Mbui, Executive Assistant to the Regional Director confirming her promise as a Scout and escorting the first new scout, Jacques Sandrizi to make his Scout promise others included Pauline Odana, Caroline Njoki, Jane Njenga, Omondi Rajab, Amos Ndegwa, Lynette Odhiambo, and Susan Muranda. The Chief Guest was the Regional Director, Ms. Rubina M. Haroon. In her speech,she welcomed the new Scouts into the Scouting world and encouraged them to live by the Scout law. She also made mention of how proud she was of the office and also as a Scout. Each new Scout member was given the world Scout badge and the Scout scarf. At the end of the ceremony,the Unit Manager, Communications, a Scout himself, gave the new Scouts a loud welcoming Bravo into the Scouting fraternity.
