New Unit Manager, Communications

Mr. Euloge Ishimwe was born on February 18, 1978. In Rwanda. He joined the Scout Movement at the age of 13, as a member of Association des Scouts du Rwanda. He later became a Scout Leader affiliated to the Kenya Scouts Association at the age of 19. During this time he had an opportunity to attend major Scout events, including the 2000 Africa Scout Jamboree where he served as a member of the service team. He is single and has no children.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Nairobi, a diploma in Electronic Journalism from Tangaza College/Catholic University of Eastern Africa. He also has a certificate in Information Technology from Prybane Computech, in Nairobi.

Mr. Euloge speaks fluent English, French, Swahili, Kinyarwanda and Kirundi. He can also communicate in Lingala, SiSwati and SiZulu. He has lectured as a Tutor in the communication department of Tangaza College. In addition, he has served as a Station Manager for Channel Swazi Television (Swaziland).

Before his new appointment as Regional Communications Officer, he was a TV producer at STVA and Head of Media Studies at Oxford Business Institute in Swaziland. Moreover, he had previously served the Africa Regional Office (2002-2004) as a Project Coordinator for the Africa Scout Radio Project and as a French/English Translator.

He wrote for QZ Magazine based in Nairobi and was one of its pioneers. He has published a number of articles, one of them being, Africa Scout Radio: From idea to the air (Scouting Bulletin: 2003).
