The new Youth Programme Director comes from a Scouting familiy. His father and uncle were Eagle Scouts in the 1930s in the USA and were Scoutmasters (Scout Leaders) in the 1950s and 1960s. His uncle helped establish a higly regarded Scout Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (USA). Both his sons achieved the Chief Scout Award in the Namibian Scouting, while his daughter earned the Chief Guide Commissioner Award in Namibia.

His interests include African music, African movies, amateur radio, stamp collection, camping and reading among others. He is a member of the Bahá'i Faith and served on the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'i's of Namibia for ten years.
