Scouting Ireland - two Scout Associations become one! - A detailed transition work plan to bring together the two established National Scout Organizations in Ireland, resulting in an updated, dynamic organization with renewed energy and vigour to develop the relationship at Group and Unit level between the two associations and changing face of Irish society, in particular the results of the "peace process" in Northern Ireland. Strategic Planning Workshop in Sri Lanka - During the RD's visit, Sri Lanka Scout Association presented a brief on the implementation of its strategic plan formulated in August 2003. It was recognized that immense work has been accomplished in initiating the various action steps in the areas of management, youth programme, finance, adult leadership, and public relations outlined in the plan. It was also reported that membership has risen to 27.000 from the earlier 19.000 reported at the 2003 workshop. Various committees has been formed under the direction of the Task Force which monitors the Plan's progress.
At this meeting, Sri Lanka Scout Association also revealed the details of the plan for its new Scout headquarters and displayed the miniature model of the HQ to be constructed on the same premises. The foundation stone for the new building is expected to be laid sometime in May this year.

Strategic Planning Kit distributed to NSOs - The Strategic Planning Kit has been distributed to NSOs and is available on the web-site as a pdf file (with internal navigation) or as a series of pdf files for the different sections.
