Scouting in Africa showcased in Sweden
RINKABY - On Saturday July 30, 2011, the staff of the World Scout Bureau, Africa Regional Office in collaboration of the management of the 22 World Scout Jamboree hosted a reception with a view to fundraise for the Africa Scout Foundation and raise awareness about the upcoming regional events.
Guests came from many countries. They were treated to a colorful entertainment by Burundian drummers, Angolan dancers and a special performance from Ghana.
In a bid to fundraise, guests joined the Africa Scout Foundation, bought raffle tickets and other artifacts that were auctioned. The colorful and musically-hyped fête saw the team of Amahoro-Amani projects receiving awards from the Swedish team.
More importantly, it was an opportunity to welcome those present to the Africa Scout jamboree in July in Burundi, the Africa Scout Day in March in Angola and the Africa Scout Conference in June in Angola. (See Events calendar 2012 )
