The ILO has estimated that some 165 million children between the ages of 5 and 14 are involved in child labour. Many of these children work long hours, often in dangerous conditions. This year the World Day against Child Labour will be marked around the world with activities to raise awareness that Education is the right response to child labour. World Scouting, as the largest global youth movement which prides itself on its strong history of non-formal education, is encouraged to get involved and draw attention to the key issues related to Child Labour.
عائشة عبد الهادى تطالب بضرورة حشد الجهود لمواجهة الآثار السلبية على الطفل
أكدت عائشة عبد الهادى وزيرة القوى العاملة والهجرة أن قضية عمل الأطفال وأطفال الشوارع احتلت إهتماماً كبيراً بالغاً على المستوى الدولى والعربى بإعتبارها حق من حقوق الإنسان فى الإعلان العالمى لحقوق الإنسان وميثاق الأمم المتحدة وميثاق الإتحاد الأفريقى وإعلان منظمة العمل الدولية الخاص بالحقوق الأساسية فى العمل والاتفاقيات الدولية والعربية.
تحت رعاية معالى الوزيرة / عائشة عبد الهادى وزيرة القوى العاملة والهجرة يعقد الإقليم الكشفى العربى الندوة الثانية للحد من عمل الأطفال وظاهرة أطفال الشوارع بهدف تعزيز الدور الكشفى فى تحسين المستوى المعيشى للأطفال العاملين وأسرهم والتعرف على الحجم الحقيقى لظاهرة أطفال الشوارع على المستوى الوطنى والعربى والعالمى، كما تسعى الندوة أيضاً إلى تحليل أنماط وأشكال عمل الأطفال والأطفال بلا مأوى والتعرف على النتائج المترتبة على هاتين الظاهرتين ووضع الشكل والإطار للإستعانة بالطريقة الكشفية لدعم هؤلاء الأطفال ومحاولة تحسين ظروفهم.
The e-learning resource on 'Keeping Scouts Safe From Harm' which was developed for Adults and the International Service Team (IST) of the recently concluded World Scout Jamboree in the UK, is now available online for global use. Inspired from the E-learning resources on Child Protection, created by NSOs, the tool, which is available in English and French, has been designed to develop worldwide awareness on the important subject.
In view of the common commitment to defending and promoting the rights of children and young people, the partnership between the International Labour Organization (ILO) and World Scouting has continued to grow. An increasing number of joint initiatives between Scouts Organizations and ILO Field and Branch Offices are being developed at the local level, in particular in the framework of the SCREAM – Supporting Children’s Rights through Education, the Arts and the Media – programme ( www.ilo.org/scream).
