A new Regional Director for the World Scout Bureau - Arab Regional Office
Geneva, World Scout Bureau, 5 April 2006 - The Secretary General, in agreement with the Arab Regional Scout Committee, appointed a new Regional Director for the World Scout Bureau - Arab Regional Office, Dr. Atif Abdelmageed Abdelrahman Ahmed, 43, from Sudan.
Atif is a medical doctor with training also in International Law and Economical Multisectoral relations and a Master in "Disaster Management and Refugee study".
Besides having played a role as a member of Parliament of Sudan, he has been working with the World Health Organisation, in charge for the Emergency Preparedness and Humanitarian Action in Karthoum.
A Scout since 1979, he has been the international commisioner of the Sudanese National Scout Organisation. He is also known at world level for having been a member of the World Programme Committee from 1993 to 1999.
