El 18 de enero, en un encuentro pleno de emociones, se realizó en el Centro Scout Mundial Picarquín el lanzamiento oficial de una nueva temporada del Programa de Campamentos Escolares, dirigido por la Oficina Scout Mundial – Región Interamericana, actividad que contó con la presencia de los participantes del Foro Interamericano de Comunicaciones que dirigió la Oficina Scout Mundial – Sede Central.

400 jóvenes provenientes de más de 50 países del mundo, unirán sus voces en el marco de las 1eras. Jornadas Internacionales “Agua y Juventud” en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina; con el fin de generar compromisos y acciones hacia una mejor calidad de vida de nuestro mundo.

The Secretary General of the Ibero-American Youth Organization (OIJ), Eugenio Ravinet Muñoz, together with Alejo Ramírez, of the OIJ Southern Cone Regional Technical Office, and Gisela Scaglia, of the National University of Rosario (Argentina), visited the headquarters of the World Scout Bureau – Interamerican Region in Santiago, Chile. The purpose of the visit was to set up initial contacts to help strengthen the cooperation links already developed through the Latin American Youth Forum (FLAJ), of which the Interamerican Scout Region is one of the founding agencies.

The meeting of Directors of the World Scout Bureau was held in Geneva, Switzerland from 12 through 16 June 2006. This meeting regularly gathers together the Secretary General of WOSM, the Directors of the diverse departments of the Central Office and the Regional Directors. This time each Region brought one additional executive to the meeting. Alberto Del Brutto, Regional Director, and Gabriel Oldenburg, Human Resources Director, participated from the Interamerican Region.

The Scout Association of Ecuador held its Annual Scout Dinner 2006 on Friday 2 June at the Hilton Colón Hotel in Quito with the theme “More Scouts today, better citizens tomorrow”.
